How to modify fill-in widget on the fly?

Hi,

Is it possible to change a fill-in's that are set up as "view-as text" back to fill-in's? I know that you can change the read only or color status by doing something like this: fill-in1:read-only = yes. But I would like to have a bunch of fill-ins that are set to "text" to open up for update when a button is pushed. Is this possible?

Thanks, but I already new you could modify attributes in genreal as I said in the post. The question is "Can I modify view-as text once it is set?" I think maybe not. The pdf did not show how to do it if you can. Sorry if my post was unclear.

my mistake didn't read the entire message.

nope. you cannot cast or change a text to a fill-in object.


do you mean enabling and disabling the fill-in ?

either through enable and disable statements or the widget:sensitive attribute.
 
Thanks so much! I did not know that if you disable a fill-in, that you can still see the data, and it looks like a view-as-text fill-in. So by leaving them as fill-ins and disabling them at start, and enabling them after hitting the update button it works excatly like I was picturing. Thanks for the enable/disable idea.

Yep, and I can tell you a self-employed progress programmer job is the best in the world for persuing an acting carreer. You can make your own ours, and working less hours on occassion to work on a film project wont make you starve, etc..

Best choice I ever made. Hard work, but very rewarding. And now with so many independant film makers out there in the world you can get the best free on the job training ever. Plus you meet cool people all the time, I guess the coolest ever for me was working with David Carradine of Kung Fu and Kill Bill.

Sorry for the rave, but was nice break from staring at my appbuilder for hours.
