550 Relaying is Prohibited"

Hi there,

Windows XP, Progress 9.1d

I try to use smtpmail.p. When I send an Email to a internal Email adres the program seems to be working fine. But when I try to send it to an external Email adres I get an Error back from our Exchange server "Server: 550 Relaying is Prohibited". I even tried it with the demo source profided by Progress (you'll never know...) but I still get the same error.
I found out that it's possible that it has something to do with authentication of the user sending the message, but I'm not able to determine the real issue here. Has anyone encountered the same problem and is there a solution out there?

This actually isn't the code, but a configuration problem with sendmail (or whatever mta you are using to send email). Check out this page for an explaination and how to fix: http://www.sendmail.org/~ca/email/relayingdenied.html
