Question Using Windows Passthrough Printing With Network Printer

Hello everyone,

I have been trying to find out whether it is possible to use "-Wa -wpp" startup parameter to print directly from Progress application to a network (TCP/IP) printer for the last couple of days. The goal is to be able to print to the network printer as to a local over COM1 serial port.
The Progress application I use (Progress 11.3) runs in a virtual environment (Windows 7 , 64-bit). The printer on Windows is set to print directly to the printer over TCP/IP port (9100). As the printer processor "winprint" is used, data type "RAW" and "Generic / Text Only" as the print driver.
Apparently a local spooler is being used in the communication between the application and the printer despite the setting to print directly to the printer. I suppose that happens, because of printing to a network printer.
Thanks in advance for any hints and/or comments!
