in DeForest, is seeking a Programmer/DBA to enhance and maintain our QAD MFG/Pro manufacturing and business software.</P>
Qualifications MUST include:</P>
<UL>
<LI>Bachelor degree in Computer Science or equivalent related experience </LI>
<LI>Experience in programming with Progress, preferably with QAD MFG/Pro </LI>
<LI>Experience with Progress database administration, especially with performance tuning and reliability </LI>
<LI>Experience in Unix system administration, preferably with HP/UX </LI>
<LI>A willingness to learn and expand the position as needed</LI></UL>
The ideal candidate will also possess:</P>
<UL>
<LI>Experience with interfacing Progress-based systems with other applications </LI>
<LI>Affiliation with other professionals in the QAD and Progress communities </LI>
<LI>Experience with Windows NT and/or Novell Netware networks </LI>
<LI>Training experience </LI>
<LI>Knowledge of other ERP & manufacturing concepts and functions such as EDI, ISO/QS-9002, and production monitoring </LI>
<LI>Internet experience</LI></UL>
Responsibilities include:</P>
<UL>
<LI>Enhance and maintain Evco's QAD MFG/Pro Application using the Progress language and related tools. This includes customizing reports and inquiries to suit Evco's needs, and developing and maintaining custom "bolt-on" applications that work in conjunction with the standard MFG/Pro product. </LI>
<LI>Fulfill Database Administration responsibilities for the Progress Databases Evco uses in MFG/Pro, including security, performance tuning and database reliability. </LI>
<LI>Fulfill Unix System Administration responsibilities, including security, hardware management, backup scheduling and system reliability </LI>
<LI>Train and support other Evco team members with the features and functions developed at Evco</LI></UL>
