When you get a System Error message such as
SYSTEM ERROR: Bus error. (48)
The above is mentioned in an old post elsewhere on this forum. To find out very general reasons why this message occurs, invoke the Progress editor window and use the Help function there for that Error Message Number.
You will get something similar to:
"PROGRESS intercepted a SIGBUS signal. This might be the result of a stack overflow on certain machines. Other possibilities include a damaged load module or system error. Please contact your dealer or Progress Software Corporation."
For more info you can also consult your database log file which could be called "name.lg" for example. Also see the top level link in this forum's website about Error Messages which should be more specifically useful in each case.
