I work on Progress 9.1D on window XP and I have to send XML to a web server and i don't know how to do it. Is using socket the best way ? Does anybody have an other solution ?

I've seen a system using named pipes, but sockets would be much easier.

There are some things on socket programming on PSDN, but according to Greg Higgins, who seems expert in the area, they programming examples are full of things one shouldn't do in a production environment. He is planning a socket book, but no clear time when that will be available. You could try searching PEG for posts by him containing the word socket to find some of his programming examples.

www.peg.com and search the main list for sockets ... probably get quite a lot of useful stuff.
