Reg: alternate part called in BOM

Hi All,

For safety issues and traceability we have maintained two different internal part # for a component. For Eg: Power supply: For vendor A we have XXX1 as the internal part # and for Vendor B we have XYX2 as the internal part #. Both parts are equivalent.
My question is
firstly how do i call the two internal part # in the BOM? and also what shud i mention in the quantity?
And secondly i want to place the order in 7:3 ratio how can I do it?
Anyone please help me.

Why would you maintain two part numbers for the same thing. This violates the uniquiness of identification rule in any ERP system. You could differentiate the items recieved from each vendor thru 1.19 - Supplier Item Maintenance and maintain lot tracibility standard QAD Lot funcationality. MRP must be very confused
