printer setup problem eb2 windows gui

hello all,
I have attached one printer HP laser jet 1007 to USB port of my pc. It is not network printer. I have marked the printer as default.In printer setup maintenance, I have tried the following things:

output to:1007
destination: Default
Printer type: HP LASER
spoller : No
device path name : LPT1:

when I set the above setting , and select output to 1007 for the report, mfg/pro session hangs.
What settings I required to do to take a printout of reports from mfg/pro. Kindly help,

I have tried the same, I put printer as device path name, but still not working. I heard that win gui environment gives problem for printing if the printer is connected through USB.
I have tried device path name as "//<ip-address>/<printer-name>
and also tried device path name as "//<comp-name>/<printer-name> .But in both the cases it didn't work. Kindly suggest sir. Thanks for your advice.
