Just upgraded to enterprise, progress8.3d and I am trying to use -spin as my startup parameter.
I'm having SUN solaris with 512MB RAM and 2 * 400MHz.
That's why I'm using -spin 2000 with 2 processors.
However, when I'm running MRP in multi-user environment, suddenly, a message came out saying "Database zdb is disconnected"....
This does not happen b4 and it gave me a shock. Thankfully, I m able to restart my db again.
I was thinking if it is becos of the -spin?
Immediately, i took out the -spin and running MRP in mult-user mode again, it does not "crash".
I heard i need to enable Symmetric Multiprocessor Support (SMP) in order to have -spin . Is it true?
I suspect it might be during that time, shared memory is over-utilised? Can it happen? Below is my segments sample:
