O E 10 Runtime

Sorry for the answer, but did you try asking this your local Progress representative?

Casper

for personal use, to work on your own projects
and those kind of things ???

you can ask for an evaluation cd
from your local, or other, distibuter

the license is limited to one month or so
but it's just a simple mechanism

you can write a wrapper batch / program
to set the date back and return it after

of course there are other more criminal ways
( maybe pirated is the right word ), especially with esd

hey is posse still online ???

The question was:
I wish to purchase an O E 10 Runtime license

So no development.
I don't believe this is the right forum to tell people how to 'hack' Progress. That's in nobody's interrest, I suppose.

Casper.

I have not had any serious response yet. I wish to PURCHASE an O E 10 license. Could somebody offer a price this would be to do so, thank you very much.

Casper's response seemed quite serious. I'm sure Progress UK could offer you a price if you ask them nicely.

Yeah,

That certainly is strange. Where are u from? If I'm correct then in Holland the prices for runtime license are something like €165,-.

Casper.

i'm from israel, but we also have misc business relationships in the uk

i remember it been almost exactly twice as much
not just run-time. oe studio, appserver, rdbms etc.

you'd expect some price and policy diff, but that's ridiculous

why isn't it an option buying directly from progress ?
aside from the partner program

it's hard seeing the value added buying from a local distributer
it's not exactly retail ?

our service for one thing is a joke
and i'd be laughing if it was someone else

usually when we have a question on some product
their answer is "what's that ?"

there are some cases where you'd really need support

there's no chance we'll continue paying service/support
unless we were considering to upgrade

i know if we had the option of buying directly from progress
we'd jump on the opportunity
