Item Number images

I'm new to the manager functions of QAD since our IT guy left and would like to know how to get an image to open using the Edit Image button in the Edit toolbar. I have put mspaint.exe in the .svg file and put an image (.bmp format) into the working directory, but it doesn't work. Do I need to associate the item number with the image and how do I do that, Generalized codes?

What is the .bmp file name only 8 characters allowed as primary name & no spaces.

Our Item Numbers are 4 characters long, sometimes 5 (example 1007 or 1256L). If I understand correctly, the image stored in the working directory would be 1007.bmp or 1256L.bmp. Do I need to associate the item number with the item number image or should it just load without any association done?

I have done this so many times, but now I am unable to set it up myself at our end. Cant figure out why.

simple, the .bmp should be 8 chars long ONLY. and it should be same as item number. store it in the working directory. go in to item master 1.4. recall the item number then select the edit image.. Blooming thing is not working for me now..used to be deal clincher fort us..i will check around and let you know..
