Hi All im using open edge 10.2b.

I currently only use appbuilder but would like to use OpenEdge Architect. in my progress.cfg it says have a licence for it but when I load it up i get the following message: unable to locate installation information for openEdge version:10.2b

if i then go to the preferences and click on openEdge architect i get the Following message:

Unable to create the selected preference page.
An error occurred while automatically activating bundle com.openedge.pdt.core (9).

anyone got any ideas? or can point me in the right place to get this working.. its annoying having it there but not being able to use it

cheers

I don't see any reason to use "OpenEdge Architect" in place of kate/ultraedit/vim/mc/appbuilder/procedureEditor
put all together in balance licence pricing / + 4Go RAM / starting time in 20 minutes ... I don't think is a good ideea to use "OpenEdge Architect".
I use kate on linux box ftp/sftp/smb/local connections/syntax highlight cool ... and it work's :)

well I'll have to leave it to tech guys.. but i really want to use OEA i think there could be some really benefits

There are still people out there who think that vi is the only good editor and people rather should learn how to program the vi instead of using all this useless graphical editors that just consume lots of memory that should be better used for more important things ...

Forgot:

I do all Java development in Eclipse and I would never exchange it for anything else. I do OpenEdge development in the OEA and the AppBuilder, simply because the OEA is not where Eclipse is for Java development. But that's natural and does not mean the OEA sucks - depending on what you are developing the AppBuilder may be the better choice (Dynamics/ADM2 for example) but in general the OEA brings features to the OpenEdge IDE which are commonly available in IDEs for other technologies and which I am really missing in the AppBuilder.

well I've never used OEA so i dont know...i mean if it can also im prove the speed in which i code due to the lay out of the code then i see that as a benefit
