Position Title: Systems Software Engineer / Performance Engineering

Location: Limerick, Ireland
QAD operate a research and development facility on the National
Technological Park, Plassey, Limerick. Here, in collaboration with sister
R&D facilities around the globe, multiple research and development groups
both extend the functionality of our existing ERP and collaborative
commerce applications and build new manufacturing focused applications.
The Limerick facility has responsibility for the design and development
of extensions to our core ERP product MFG/PRO, Interoperability solutions
between MFG/PRO and other products and new product development. The
Limerick facility seeks to add a dynamic, creative and motivated
individual for the following position.
Systems Software Engineer / Performance Engineering
This specialist will be one of a small team of highly skilled technical
resources available to the global R&D organisation. This senior technical
position requires extensive experience of the Progress language and DB.
You will consult with the development teams on all topics related to
performance benchmarking, troubleshooting, improvement and testing. You
will select and implements tools and systems to evaluate application
performance on multiple hardware / OS combinations. You will have
significant scripting and DBA skills. You will have extensive experience
of database and application tuning specifically in a Progress and Oracle
environment. You will have a background of 8-10 years of development,
implementation or services experience and 4-5 years of Progress and Oracle
database management. This challenging role will require that you consult,
advise and assist all our development groups both in Limerick and all over
the world. Knowledge of ERP and manufacturing would be an advantage.
