Where Used Inquiry (13.7)

According to my understanding, where used (13.7) is to check those raw material belonged to which finished good.

On 24/8/2006 I have printed out a copy of Part A which belong to Z,Yand W
I have completed the changing of Part A to Part A.1 for part Z, Y and W

so on 04/09/06 I tried again to check for Part A. Supposing Part A has nothing to be involved (as i have changed the part number)

But still i found out Part A still belong to other parts like D,E,F & G

Why this happen? Your advice is much appreciated

I do not fully understand the situation.
Q: on 24-8-2006; was item A a component of BOM structure Z;Y;W;D;E;F;G?
Q: What did you do with item A; (1)changed the item number or (2)replaced A in the Product structure (13.5) with A1 for parents Z;Y;W

What is wrong with writing a simple custom report and addining it to the menu???
Writing a custom report that does a FOR EACH om the required mfg table then a required WHERE ...
This can of course be iterated.

Component Item A is the where used item for Parent Z;Y;W;D;E;F;G
on 24/6/2006 We are only able to print out Component Item for Parent Z, Y & W
Again, on 6/9/2006 I printed Component Item A for D,E,F& G
Supposingly on 24/6/2006 I have printed all the Parents

Perhaps is due to the Effective Date (As of Date) in Where Used Inquiry.
