The best OS for Webspeed?

Due to a Webspeed implementation for our company, I like to have some recommendations based on experience.

What we have:

- an 'Warehouse Management System' based on a Progress 9.1D Enterprise DB. This application is very critical for our company.

- The DB is running on a ProLiant ML 530 G2 Server, with Red Hat Enterprise ES 3.0

What we want:

- a Web-portal for our customers based on WebSpeed.

The Webserver (Webspeed Messenger) will be placed in our DMZ. About this Webserver we have two possibilities:

a) Install the Webserver (IIS) on our existing ISA (Windows Server 2003) Server.

b) Place a new Server with Red Hat Enterpise ES 3.0 and Apache

I like to now what will be preferred, based on performance, security, reliability (24x7x365).

The 'Webspeed Transaction Server' will be placed in our secure LAN. We have the possibility to install this on the existing DB-Server or on a new Server. What will be preferred?

If we install this on a new Server, what will be the preferred OS, Windows Server 2003 or Reh Hat Ent. ES 3.0?

Is it possible to have a WAN-connection (2Mbit) between the Webserver (Webspeed Messenger) and the 'Webspeed Transaction Server'?

Becouse we have several sites, and the Internet-connection is on a other site than the DB-Server.

Finaly:

What must be the hardware requirements for this (two) Servers? Based on 100 (?) concurrent connections.

Thank you very much for you information.
