This individual will have responsibility for providing Systems Engineering
support for Progress Sales Executives, Direct End User (DEU).
Primary responsibilities include:
* Strong communication and presentation skills are required
* Work as part of the sales team to formulate account strategies
* Develop competitive positioning of our products and leverage it during
the sales cycle
* Ownership and Management of technical relationships with prospects and
customers throughout the sales cycle
* Ownership and Account Technical Management of technical relationships
with selected key accounts within an assigned territory.
* Preparing and delivering Corporate positioning, technical presentations
and demonstrations
* Developing and managing software evaluation plans
* Technical participation in corporate visits
* An understanding of database products as well as the ability to
communicate technical ideas to both technical and non-technical
audiences.
* Technical participation with trade shows and seminars. This includes
presentations and or demonstrations.
* Developing and Delivering proof of concept demonstrations and
applications prototypes.
* Answering technical and product inquiries
* Experience with web development tools
* Development and maintenance of a good communication channel with
technical support, development, and product management
The Qualified candidates will have experience with a 4GL or visual
programming tools. Experience in one or more of the following: Progress
4GL, Java, C, SQL, XML, Relational Databases. Experience in working in
a team selling environment with an understanding and exposure to a strategic
selling process. Strong communication and presentation skills. Bachelors'
degree in business or computer science, with 6+ years in software product or
application support.
