How to switch over and switch back Progress database 11
1. Current process
2. Using Replication Set
3. Does 2 have any advantages over 1. Does 2 help in transition to avoid reseeding of the database.

You haven't actually said what your current process is but, reading between the lines, I suppose it must be some form of the old-style replication with mostly manual failover and the 12-step voodoo fail-back process that pretty much always ends up with a re-seed.

Replication sets are a wonderful improvement over that. They are very much worth implementing and they make the failover process substantially smoother, more reliable, and far, far less likely to involve a re-seed.

It may take a bit of testing to wrap your head around the new process so setup a sports2000 db and a couple of targets and fiddle around with it. Once you get it going you will be shocked at how well it works.
