This idea is that the Progress DataDirect Oracle Wire Protocol driver should support the new Oracle security features very close on the heels of the Oracle database release date so that we can better match our customer requirements and not ask them to downgrade their Oracle database server authentication protocol. Background: While testing the upcoming Oracle 12.2 database release with the Progress Oracle Wire Protocol driver we saw that the driver is only able to connect to the server if we uodate the sqlnet.ora file to include the following: SQLNET.ALLOWED_LOGON_VERSION_SERVER=11 SQLNET.ALLOWED_LOGON_VERSION=11 SQLNET.ALLOWED_LOGON_CLIENT=11 This seems to match a pattern where for each new release of Oracle database the Progress Oracle Wire Protocol driver requires a code change to keep up. I wonder where Progress DataDirect stands in regards to internal efforts to test Oracle Beta releases in order to keep up with these types of changes and also release driver patches within a reasonable time frame once the new Oracle release goes GA. Can you please let me know if you are aware of the upcoming change and have any time frame to support Oracle 12.2 once it goes GA? Thanks, Matt
