Shipper Delete / Archive

Hello Peggers :

The Shipper Delete/Archive program in MFG/PRO 8.6D is
behaving strangely. We are able to delete and archive
shippers which were confirmed and shipped.

However, in case of unconfirmed shippers, this program
fails. For example, if a shipper has been created
using Sales Order shipper Maintenance (7.9.8) and
needs to be deleted. This program will not be able to
delete this unconfirmed shipper .

It would be nice to know if this problem exist at
other QAD sites using 8.6D or it is specific to our
site.

Are we doing something wrong ...............

Any feedback/comments .....

TIA

I did a search on my 8.6 documentation and didn't see where you couldn't
delete uncinfirmed shippers, but it is logical that that would be a
requirement. It does specifically state that you can delete expired
shippers though. Try changing the expiration date and then delete it.

I'm on 8.5h and had the same issue. This is the response from
QAD.

using 7.11.23 Shipper Delete/Archive

Title: Unconfirmed shippers will not delete using 7.11.23
Shipper Delete/Archive

Fact: MFG/PRO 8.5H

Fact: 7.11.23 Shipper Delete/Archive

Fact: rcsdel.p

Fact: Unconfirmed Shippers = yes

Fact: sel_unconf = yes

Symptom: Unconfirmed shippers will not delete using 7.11.23
Shipper Delete/Archive

Symptom: Shipper has either an Item or a Container or both
attached to it.

Fix: In previous versions of MFG/PRO 7.11.23 would delete all
unconfirmed shippers if the Unconfirmed Shippers flag was set to YES.
In version 8.5h patch J39S was introduced as part of standard code which
will now prevent unconfirmed shippers with either an Item or a Container
attached to it from being deleted. This patch was introduced because in
previous versions when the unconfirmed shipper was deleted all
allocations against that shipper were not removed. This patch causes
that to no longer happen. The user has the option to either remove all
containers and or items associted with the unconfirmed shipper in the
shipper workbench then delete archive the shipper or they can just
delete the entire shipper in the workbench if a archive file is not
needed.

The expiration date is on the sales order. If you have a number of
shippers on this SO then you probably wouldn't want to do this.

BTW I take it you are changing the Unconfirmed flag to Yes on the first
screen? I only have an 8.5 version on my desktop and was able to delete
an unconfirmed shipper with no problem.
