insurance, annuities and non-qualified benefit plans is seeking an
experienced Sr. Systems Application Analyst.
Position Summary:
This position serves as a systems application analyst resource providing
support in relational database and source code management preferable with
Progress DB and Roundtable. This individual must be a highly motivated
team player and must be flexible to support if needed, our data center
operations (24x7).
Education/Experience Requirements:
* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science
* Minimum of 2 years relational database experience required -
Progress DB a plus
* UNIX AIX basic administration
* Ability to navigate well with Windows NT/2000/XP
* Knowledge of software configuration management methods and
source code management tools
* Experience using FTP helpful
* Positive attitude and a strong customer service orientation
* Able to manage multiple concurrent activities with critical deadlines
* Able to follow detailed instructions or procedures
* Able to promote teamwork and commitment to excellence within
the department and throughout the organization
Responsibilities and Duties:
* Source code and release management
* Providing support for nightly batch operations
* Night Ops issues resolution and follow up
* Development and maintaining scripts for automation of system
administration and operations functions
* Trouble shooting and software debugging
* Monitoring and tuning databases for nominal performance and
capacity planning
* Maintaining existing procedures and documenting new procedures
if needed
* Providing feedback to improve operation and performance of the system
* Providing on-call or on-site after hours support to assist with
internal development efforts as well as external clients
