T Progress Software Developer with DBA expereince needed in Dallas for a Contract to Hire Opportunity.
Education and/or Experience
· Bachelors Degree and 5-10 years related experience
· Very Strong UNIX, Progress v6-9, Progress RDBMS
· Good knowledge of Microsoft technologies
· Languages: Progress 4GL
· Strong knowledge of Database structures and architecture (Progress, SQL Server, Triggers, Views, Extents, Stored Procedures, backups, Replication, DTS)
· Strong experience designing and implementing business solutions in a fast-paced, business critical environment
· Ability to work with business community in an analyst-to-solution role
· Project and/or supervisory experience required
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills
· Experience with Oracle Database 10G R2 a plus
Duties and Responsibilities
Implement new functionality and modification to applications using custom and proprietary ERP software. Work with business users and owners to identify, design and implement software solutions to business needs. Maintain the Dispatch-1 system according to agreed SLA. Perform system checks and optimize system performance. Responsible for database administration for Dispatch-1. Maintain Dynix OS for Dispatch-1.
Participate in site architectural and overall technical design for site enhancements throughout the life cycle of the site. Assist in the research and development of new products and technologies.
Provide ongoing maintenance and support of Dispatch-1. Provide ongoing maintenance and support of the ftp and other interfaces into Dispatch-1. Integrate front-end templates with back end technologies to ensure total site functionality on all platforms for current site and future developments. Through testing, ensure that all code meets specifications and is easily maintainable and well documented.
