We are in need of a Progress DBA for our client in Atlanta, GA.
We are looking for a senior level DBA who has experience working with
large Progress Databases. In this role you will provide day-to-day
support of mission critical 24X7 Progress databases and applications.
You will work closely with business units, application development teams,
and Architecture to create, and document project plans in support of
corporate priorities. Monitor, and assist in the projection of capacity
requirements for production Progress database environments. Provide
operational metrics for Progress databases and 4GL applications. Deliver
primary support in the resolution of production application problems.
Participate in the development and communication of operational practices
and standards. Mentor junior operations staff.
Ideally you will have five or more years experience in planning,
implementing, and maintaining Progress databases to support Information
Technology projects utilizing:
* Progress database server through version 9.1D
* Fathom Management
* WebSpeed Application Server
* Experience in tuning 4GL applications
* Exposure to Sun Solaris through version 9
* Veritas NetBackup, and Cluster Server
* Superior trouble shooting skills
Candidates should also possess exceptional oral, and written communication skills.
Requirements/Education
Bachelors in Computer Science, CIS/MIS, or equivalent experience.
A Progress test must be given prior to submittal.
