Progress DB Monitoring Parameters

Hi All,

Please let me know what all tools are available in market to monitor Progress Database, I am awre of Protop and Pomon (inbuilt), and what all parameters we need to monitor for a database.
 
To understand what metrics you need to monitor takes a lot more than a post or 3 in an online forum.

You might want to consider taking a training class or bringing in a consultant to mentor you.

Thanks for replying. as per my understanding FATHOM for replication, it is not a monitoring tools like we have for other databases. Ex. for Oracle and MS Sql even for DB2 BMC has given us some list of parameters which the tool wil take care, and for Progress DB they don have any specific tool.

Problem for us like now we are writing all new scripts for OS level and DB level monitoring, sending alerts for warnings and errors.

"Fathom" can refer to 2 different products - "Management" (which is a product to help monitor metrics) and "replication" (which you apparently already know about). In Progress v9 these products were called "fathom". Since v10 they are know as OE Management and OE Replication.

You might also want to check out http:dbappraise.com for a lighter weight and simpler monitoring solution.
