- What is being requested: Support in the ODBC / JDBC Hive driver to connect using the HTTP port - Reason for request: Customers who want to access the Hive using the Knox Gateway cannot access it using the Knox Gateway, as the connections through the Knox are channelled over the HTTPs. - Also, several other drivers for the Hive that come along with the distributions like the HDP support this functionality. Lack of this functionality in the Progress Driver for Hive would be a major deterrent for asking the customers to use the Progress Datadirect Driver for Hive to connect to various distributions of the Hive. - Possible workarounds: None. -- Importance / criticality of this enhancement High
