I solved it. I looked back to some validation examples I learned a while ago. The same technique works update [FIELDS] GO-ON (return) with frame a . if frame-field = [FIELD 1] then next-prompt [FIELD 2] with frame a. if frame-field = [FIELD 2] then next-prompt [BUTTON] with frame a.
