I'm not too up on newer ways of doing this (still on 10.2B) but in this scenario I would do the following: DEFINE BUFFER bTable FOR table. FOR EACH table NO-LOCK: FIND bTable WHERE ROWID(bTable) = ROWID(table) EXCLUSIVE-LOCK NO-ERROR NO-WAIT. IF AVAILABLE bTable THEN ASSIGN bTable.fieldName = "NewValue". END. HTH
