There is no hidden conspiracy. When we implemented this for PASOE in 2014, we were afraid of thread starvation caused be waiting for forked processes to complete. The algorithm increased the sleep time for longer running processes. Up until a few months ago, there were no reports of adverse effects. Once we identified the issues, the algorithm was rewritten and testing was done on overall system response. We are providing a hotfix for those customers on 11.7.x and have fixed the issue in the 11.7.6 and 12.3 development streams. It is also a candidate for the first 12.2 Scheduled update, but must get approved by a change management board first. Since the classic AVM is single threaded, there is no need to worry about thread starvation and it just blocks. We did not purposely hobble PASOE performance as there is no benefit to anyone to do that. Dave
