Hello, regarding issue http://knowledgebase.progress.com/articles/Article/000052030 it would be highly desireable to have an option for the jdbc driver to be able to provide a fallback codepage so that if a character does not work it doesn't just choke but allows you to figure out what is the problem record and fix the data. Note that both ODBC and ABL handle this slightly better (they do return the data but the problem characters show up incorrectly, it's far from perfect too but at least the user can see the data and fix it.) The real problem is indeed that corrupt characters can get in the database, but even if that bug is fixed the fact that large databases with corrupted characters may exists remains a problem.
