Progress – Product Suggestion Product: Dataserver Enhancement Provide the ability to access tables that have ‘unsupported datatypes’ by simply excluding those fields from the meta-schema, and this allowing the other fields to be accessed via the Dataserver. Explanation If the schema pull in the data server encounters a table with geographical shape fields, an error is generated and the schema pull is aborted for that table. The ds_upd.e reports: ERROR: Table has unsupported data types. Skipping this table... We have a use-case where we want to be able to read/update the other fields in these tables (attributes in our GIS system) and don’t need to worry about the shape details as they are maintained by the GIS system elsewhere. It is further noted that the Hybrid Data Pipeline product already supports this capability by simply excluding the unsupported fields. Alternatively, please make geospatial data a supported data type in Openedge!
