Hello all, This is definately a newbie question so feel free to beat me about the head and shoulders, and if this is the wrong forum, I will repost the question.
Our situation at present: We have progress running on a database server with Mapics, syteline product. All the client machine have a network install of the progress client. All of that is working fine.
What I am having problems with is running crystal reports from my workstation. I have installed the Merant ODBC drivers but I cannot make a connection to the database.
I believe I have a solution, but I would like a confirmation from this forum before I go about make the changes to the workstation.
I believe I will need to uninstall the progress client from the workstation and do a local install of progress instead of the network install.
The errors I get when I attempt a connection are
[MERANT]{ODBC PROGRESS driver]msgOpen: unable to open message file: PROMSGS
as well as the message
[MERANT][ODBC PROGRESS driver]PROGRESS error returned with no associated message: RC=-1, SQLCODE=-1, SQLSTATE="".
Any assistance is greatly appreciated.
