Progress 8.3b & SHIFT-JIS on Windows XP PRO English

Hi,

We are currently in the process of selecting the OS for the new workstations. What we are thinking of right now is to install Windows XP PRO, English version on those PCs.

Since our program, which was developed in Progress 8.3b, stores and retrieves information using SHIFT-JIS codepage, we need to select "Japanese" as the language for non-unicode program on the Advanced tab of Regional and Language Options window for it to display and take japanese characters correctly. However in doing so, we keep getting error messages that some of the widgets do not fit in the frame or window. We even got this error in opening the Progress UIB.

Does anyone know what the cause of this could be and how to resolve it? FYI, the program runs fine on both Windows XP English Version but with English(America) selected as the language for non-unicode program and Windows XP, Japanese version.

Thank you very much,
Jimmy
