probkup and compress

I backup my db using -vs and it create somes files, my question is, Can i use compress for unix 11.00 over this files?

You will probably find you dont compress it any further.

Have you try a -com as well?

On AIX, i use gzip on the files after the backup is completed and sent the total backup size from 16 Gigs to less than 3 Gigs.
