openedge management tool uinstall error

I have a critical issue of unistalling management tool in progress openedge. When I go to add remove and click on openedge it's gives and error of with blank dialog box.

please help i need to unistall and re install it
 
Please do not double post the same question in different forums and please always include the version of OpenEdge and the OS you are on.

I had something similar like that with OpenEdge Management in the early OpenEdge 10 days on some other Windows derivate. Back then the reason was that some processes were still running because they were started as a Windows Service under the LocalSystem account. Don't know if you're hitting the same issue.

Probably that may be the causes, I can't reinstall my OS coz I have Epicor ERP running on it with openedge 10.2a as framework. Are there any regiestry keys to be edited to unistall management tool or which process has to be killed so the tool get uninstall properly. IF I try to reinstall on top it i cannot change the folder directories as they are greyed out. an early help will be highly appreciable

AFAIK OpenEdge Management is - or was back then - tightly integrated with a local OpenEdge installation - the AdminService. Back then it was necessary to stop all OpenEdge processes too to uninstall OpenEdge Management.

IIRC, you will find the registry entries in:

  • HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\PSC
  • HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\PSC - but here there should only be user specific settings like the imported progress.ini and other stuff.
