We have several major objects that have hundreds of views for each object. These views default to sort in the order they were created and can only be reorded 1 view at a time. That manual reordering only lasts until the very next view is created by any user, private or public view. So, it is not feasible to manually sort views alphabetically. In the new user interface on v4.0.2, without an alphabetical sort, we will need to create custom picklist logic to allow some level of easier selection in order to take the new UI into production for our internal 360 product. In the old UI we created custom logic to allow you to perform type ahead directly in the picklist throughout the UI and particularly to improve the selection of views. We use this custom logic to filter views to a small list that contain the word(s) the user is looking for.
