I noticed today quite by accident that if you have multiple list views on the same page, and you activate the Filter feature on multiple views, only the first one will work. Each successive filter window will be broken, and you can't select a filter type or record to match. Of course the workaround is simply to hide the filter windows that you are not using and then the one will work again.
