modify .w file

Hi everyone i need to modify a .w file but i dont know how or what i need to do this, thanks for the help.

i try to do in progress V 9.1c.

It's easy:

1. Open the file with any text editor, eg. Notepad.
2. Bang the keyboard randomly.
3. Click 'File', 'Save' (to do this, use the oval thing beside your keyboard, the one with the wire coming out of it).

Voila!

Very funny greg, but not the answer, i try to modify file .w the objects contaniers, procedures, etc.

You probably want the Progress tool known as "app builder". It is a separately licensed product.

But you're running 9.1C which is ancient, obsolete and unsupported. So if you don't already have it you are probably out of luck.

You could use an ordinary text editor but you would need to have some understanding of the code that you are looking at and its organization. Which would take weeks of training just to get a basic understanding. And if you lack app builder you probably also lack a compiler license so that isn't likely to help much anyway.
