Menus - providing help

Menu manualy?

Yes, Bendaluz, manualy menu is a real way. But...

I think, that it is not a good way to write menu manualy. Because PROGRESS already put some work to release menu. Instead of duplicate their work we can make our own work at this time.
IMHO transfer some help from menu to paper is more cheaply, that write and support own menu.

Serj,
Whilst I agree with your arguments, it is unlikely that anyone would want to commit the resources to rewite the standard menus, I simply provided a possible solution to a problem that Crittar asked for. It is up to Crittar (or his manager) whether this is appropriate for their situation. Some companies would rather spend the money and have the help there, so that there is more chance of their users using the system correctly, rather than just saving a few bucks.

One option is to use the status line to display the message.

This would allow you to change the help to be more context sensitive.

That way you could also store menu help in the database alongside the menu options for when you define them.

Just a thought!
