Major differences from V6 - V9?

V6 - The last version that was just character based/procedural language. No temp-tables.
V7 (1994?) - GUI support. Event-driven programming in addition to Procedural language. Temp-tables possible. VBX.
V8 (1996?)- Introduction to Smart Objects/ADM. Webspeed. Later on (1997?) 32bit / OCX / Actuate reporting.
V9 - Advanced graphics/ADM2 etc
 
V6 - V9 differences.

One is an out of date language which is really slow and has noddy language constructs which is way behind the opposition, the other is V6.
 
One is ancient and proprietary. V6

One tries to emulate features within a SQL driven DB, but is still closed and proprietary V9
