Have a way to select specific customers or all customers in a Master Zone to see a message page when trying to log in, such as a "maintenance window" alert, i.e. like the maintenance window page for salesforce. Also allow the page to not let the customer log in as a means to keep them out during the "maintenance window" if necessary. It could also be leveraged as a way to alert customers to new features, new applications, application changes, etc. This could be accomplished by manually getting on the server and slipping in an intermediate index.html but something in the Application so technical skills are not needed as this is really a business decision based on technical needs or not.
