Progress Developer Role

RAM is looking to increase the size of its Transport and Logistics department due to a growing demand for both its Rental4000 Lease Management and its Monitor4000 Equipment Operating solutions.

Both applications are used Worldwide and provide customers with front-end business solutions to manage their day-to-day transactions and provide management with essential information for current and future business decisions.

The software is written using Progress 4GL which is both a programming language and database. Progress’s unique products allows for fast application development and access to vast volumes of data for analysis.

Current versions of Progress supported by Real include V8, V9 and OpenEdge. Other development tools used by the applications include Crystal Reports, ODBC, JDBC, XML and SQL.

This role would suit an individual who has about 6 months progress experience who is looking to join a sociable hands-on team of 7 developers. If you do not have any progress experience but do have some relevant experience then please do apply!!

The ideal candidate must be able to work as part of a team and independently.

Along with the initial application development and support, the role will lead to opportunities to liaise and consult with clients and manage projects including product enhancements and new installations. International travel will be required. A driver’s licence is an advantage. The candidate must be eligible to work in the UK.

Starting salary is between 18-25K depending on experience and ability. Benefits include Personal Health Care, Travel Insurance and a commission scheme.
