Hi everybody,
Opendge installed on my laptop.
I want to create an empty database with codepage "GB2312"(Simply-Chinese), but with default setting, the codepage is "ISO8859-1".
I checked some documents, it's determined by empty.db in installed directory.
And there is subdirectory in prolang, which support internal language.
So I checked my laptop in prolang directory, there is only three folders, one is ame(for American english), another is utf(for utf-8), the other is convamap( I guess some system function).
I guess if I want to create a database with GB2312, there should be a folder SCH supporting this.
My question is how can I get these files, should I buy it from seller or I can download it from progress website.

I have another problem hope you guys can give solution.
I export an XML file from Unix server and want to import it to Windows database.
Database codepage is GB2312(Simply-Chinese) both on Unix & windows server.
While importing, some chinese character shows "?", but others show correct.
While connecting to database, also use parameters -cpstream GB2312 -cpinternal GB2312 in the .pf file.
So I am wondering why some Chinese character can not show correct but "?".

If you installed the chinese component then in the $DLC/prolang directory there is an empty database with the required codepage. You can use that one to create the required database.

Also look at KB P123805: http://progress.atgnow.com/esprogress/Group.jsp?bgroup=progress&id=P123805

Casper.

Thanks Casper.

But when I installed Opendge, there is no selection "simplified chinese" in "available languages" frame, only have "simplified chinese" at "supplemental language set".
So after installation, there is no folder named "sch" in prolang directory.
Should I contact with seller to buy this component?

Hi there,

If I'm not mistaken the supplemental languages can be downloaded here: http://www.progress.com/esd.

You need to register before you can download. You can find them in the deployment components section.

BTW: What happens if you press the: available via download button?

casper.
