how to change the license numbers without reinstalling OpenEdge 10

Hi ,
Is there a easy way to replace one license with another license without reinstalling?

If there is a machine with installed : (license xxxxxxxxx)
1. OE 10 Workgroup RDBMS
2. OE Studio
3. Client Networking
4. 4GL Development System

And I want to keep only the following 2 products : (license yyyyyyyyy)
1. OE 10 Workgroup RDBMS
3. Client Networking

Can the license numbers be changed easily, without reinstalling Open Edge10?

I will ASSUME (I know I should not) that the installations are on a Windows box. Indeed you can, you need to alter / frigg the registary settings. I do not know the registery key you require off the top of my head, though you can simply frigg the configuration data, that way!!!

You've got the only option. Try to use 'License Update' utility. I've never use it therefore I can't say exactly how it works but I don't see any way.
 
Yes, I expected that License Update will let me remove existing licenses and add new ones, but when I tried it I found out that It can be used to only ADD new products using the SAME/SIMILAR serial number.
If I try to add a product with a different serial number I get an error.

Please let me know if I make a mistake!
 
That is standard PSC behaviour.
Adding a new product is updating the current configuration, using the SAME PROWIN 32, so it dictates that the codes will be the same. You are just adding (overlaying the same prowin32). You can frigg Windows though, by simply editing the appropriate registery key. I do not know off-my-head which key you need.

In this case I suppose you should reinstall OE. I guess OE installation process is more than just installation. During this process many components is compiled, unnecessary ones is trimmed Another words it's the complicated process and I think PSC doesn't provide for the addition of other components to the current installation.

Did you try to use 'Add components' utility? Maybe it can solve this problem. Don't forget to stop all OE processes including AdminService.
 
Hello ... Nobody is listening

Standard PSC procedure, will NOT allow simply, updating an existing instillation, to reconfigure to become a seperate instance. Each instance of Progress (OpenEdge in this case) needs a seperate license key. The ADD / UPDATE option is simply to reconfigure an existing installation, and add new entities.
Though on a Windows box, you can manually edit the appropriate registry key.

We decided to reinstalled OE 10 with the new licenses instead of changing
Windows registry's keys.
("Add components" and "License Update" cannot help me change the serial number)
