Hot spare advice

One of our large customers is in the process of making a true hot spare server for the Progress db (10.2B Linux running on SSD's).

A few questions:

1) Does anyone have any experience with DRBD ( www.drbd.org ) ? I'm aware this is big in the mysql world, but not sure of the feasibility with Progress DB's.

2) If we went with using AI, would using OE Replication be better than rolling our own using scripts (this is our current process)

Any advice or comments would be greatly appreciated.

Data integrity is kind of optional with mysql.

This /might/ work -- but I'd want to test it very thoroughly. I don't see anything about how it synchronizes multiple devices. If your db spans several block devices how are they kept in sync? Are they? I don't see anything about guaranteeing the order of writes...

If you're doing a hot spare you might want to examine licensing requirements. I believe that you need to purchase a license regardless of whether or not you use OE Replication -- so you may want to just buy OE Replication and implement it.
