Help: PHP Connect from linux to Win Progress DB?!

Hi,

The last several days i've been breaking my head on how to get my linux box to talk to an Progress BD on an Win200 server with PHP. I thought this was doable through ODBC, so i set up an DSN on my Win2000 server and have been trying since to connect to it with all kinds of connect strings..... to no avail.

Can anyone shed some light on this, but please go easy on me 'cause i'm a noob on all fronts.

Making connection from a Win-workstation to the DB on my Win-server with MSQuery is no problem.

Do i need the Merant driver on my Linux server to connect?
