generalised code validation if source code not available

Hello All,

I would like get help in finding some information as the topic tells.

scenario :

Want to make a field as Generalized code. Added the values to GCM maintenance menu.
But when checked , identified that dont have the source code where I can add the GCM code validation to that field. means the code is encrypted. Is there any way which I can apply the validation to the field ? so that user will get a message of they leave the field blank and try to process.

Please help

Hi ,

I do want to make a field as Generalized code validated so that it will only allow specified values defined for it...
but i do believe, backend program validation is needed for that field which we make as GCM...
the problem is if we dont have the readable source code of the backend program, how is it / is it possible......
