Had a look through the OpenEdge Help file: " DEFINE TEMP-TABLE statement .... LIKE field Specifies a database field or a variable whose characteristics the temp-table field inherits..... The temp-table field inherits the data type, extents, format, initial value, label, and column label." From that description it would seem to indicate that the behaviour is expected.
