The problem we had when we enabled the email gateway on our Community was due to all old posts we migrated from our old forums. So we switched off the email gateway, ran a script to make sure all users notifications were set to OFF and switched back ON the the email gateway. Joining the Community should NOT change/set any forum notifications at all. It's only when you join a group like the Technical Users group or Business users group that triggers the respective group forums to have their notifications switched to ON. That can be changed by the user through the Member Options/Manage Subscriptions. The links to set your group notifications are: - Business users group: community.progress.com/.../forumsubscriptions.aspx - Technical users group: community.progress.com/.../forumsubscriptions.aspx In addition, each user can also set their overall emails and notifications. To do so, on the top-right corner of almost every Community page, you have the user ID widget. Under your avatar you should see a little gear. Click that gear and you'll then be able to adjust your preferences for notifications and email. See screenshots below. Access your user preferences: Set your notifications Hope this helps.
