Status messages is a functionality available that we disabled. It can be added back if users are interested for such a feature. To delete your status message, go in your profile, select the Activity tab: Scroll down to the last status message, hover your mouse in thew upper-right corner of the activity message. A drop-down list appears. Mouse over and click Delete.
