Brian: Progress has made more database improvements over the last few years than I had realistically hoped for. TDE was an absolute blessing for my last company. The idxbuild improvements also made major improvements for maintenance/release windows. I do think that a little more weight should be given to the suggestions/pains of larger DB users compared to the smaller shops. Like George said... things that are minor to the smaller shops can and do cause million dollar outages for the larger shops. Repeatedly having to explain to IT executives why certain things are big issues for Progress databases when they are non issues on other databases just leads to extra drama. Especially when you are trying to influence them on new projects/products.
