We use both the sales module and the ssm module quite heavy.
We even have custimizations whereby we changed our salesorder to facilitat certains aspect of ssm ( creation of installation calls, creation of service contract, simplified sales order entry for supplies, simplified entry for 7.1.6 combined with 7.9.1, cim-programs to automatically create sales orders for annually returning events etc.)
I also helped desgin with QAD a credit ssm mdule where you can easily create a credit-invoice for a service- or contract-invoice.
